Continuing with more green today. We had some left over Kale from during the week, when I made some kale and barley soup. So I decided today to try some kale crisps as I have never tried or made these before. The recipe is really straight forward…there’s not much to it… Well, thats what I thought, I thought wrong. I put far to much chilli flakes in, as I like a spice in my food. The plan was to show a recipe here, but it has really put me off making them again, there is a as nasty taste lurking in the back of my throat. Maybe I should have stuck with my initial idea and made garlic kale crisps?

Ah…the over-seasoned kale chip. Everyone makes this mistake (I sure did!) Whether simply salting the kale or spicing it up, use a tiny fraction of what you think you need. All the moisture evaporates and the giant pile of kale collapses so the seasoning is intensified. Please try again–it is SOOOOO worth it! And don’t forget to smile at the kids after you’ve gobbled it up–the best part of baking kale is green teeth LOL!
I’m new to your blog and I love it!
