This year I have seen a lot of trees going up really early. As much as I love seeing them go up I much prefer at home to gradually decorate and then the tree goes up twelve days before Christmas, maybe even a couple of days after. I have however bought our tree it’s in the garden waiting to come in. For the past couple of years, I’ve got our tree from IKEA it’s a perfect size, bushy and a great price, and you get a gift voucher to spend in IKEA later on. Let’s be honest it’s going in the bin a week after Christmas.

As I don’t have my tree up just yet I wanted to show an alternative way you can add some festive cheer to your home, if like me you holding off putting up your tree. Or you could put this simple idea in another room. All you need is a big large branch from the garden the larger the better as you could place in a vase on the floor and the idea is to hang a couple of your favourite decorations on the branch.

This season once our tree is up it will be decorated with the usual decorations I have up in the loft, I think all the baubles are white and glass. It’s so hard to remember as I cleared a bunch out when packing away last year. You could redecorate your tree every year that would be costly as tree decorations can be pricey especially the nice ones! It is nice however to pick up a few and collect them through the years. New additions for me this year are these Ferm Living twin eye brass decorations which can be found on the branch. I’ve always wanted tree clip candles on my tree so I picked up these, has anyone had experience with them?

Here are some of my favourite decorations that I wouldn’t mind decorating my tree with this year.

ARC Ornament
VINTER IKEA white
Georg Jensen tree candles
FLORUS ornaments
VINTER IKEA white
Nkuku Brown & Copper
Nkuku Cream Paper
Ferm Living Twin Eye Brass Ornament
Georg Jensen Michael Tree Decoration

I am just about finished the boy’s room so there will be a post about that! In detail and hopefully more to come! They have gotten older and nice prints are being replaced by football posters :)
