I have simplified everything in the living room and slowly I will start putting things back into place. I normally strip everything right back which gives a clearer vision to where new objects should be placed. Currently I am also putting together a collage of prints on the wall of my sofa, I have so many 50×70 prints and need to source a few smaller ones.

I would also like to do some painting in the living room. Living with two boys and white walls is a recipe for disaster, with dirt and marks everywhere from playing with toys. I have also been thinking of painting below the dido rail, that runs round the living room in either black or anthracite, but just cant make my mind up. I might just go ahead and do it, after all its only paint and If I don’t like I can paint it back white.

Hah, beware the notion of “If I don’t like it I can paint it back white.” I painted my kitchen walls & ceiling in dark grey, then immediately regretted it. So what, I can paint it back white, right? After about eight back-breaking coats of white paint, I still haven’t completely hidden the grey underneath! It’s a lot of work to return a black wall to white; I’m learning that the hard way.

Do you like how loosely I said I can just paint over? Many years I spent in Habitat painting walls anthracite to learn they would be changing back to white! I feel your pain its a horrible job.

      Have a great weekend.

Look so great your living!, and I know what you mean with boys and white walls, my boy always like to ride his little cars on the wall, but for now I’m going to leave the walls white. Love your blog too!

I love these shots, especially the chair! The Ella-sofa is so pretty too.
(Maybe there is a white paint that can be more easily cleaned? Like glossy paint?)

I’m dying to know where you got that throw/blanket that’s slung over your arm chair. The one with the + + + pattern? I’ve also been looking out for some decently large sized bell jars. Any pointers where I can find something reasonable in its price tag?
