I remember seeing these gorgeous brass wreaths last year from Cooee Design and I knew it was a must for this year’s decorations for the festive period. You might have seen from #5daysofchristmas17 that I like to decorate for Christmas with a minimal look, a nice tree, fairy lights and a nice wreath.

So when I received the brass wreath in the post I got to work decorating it. The wreath is beautiful just on its own so I didn’t want to fill it with too much foliage, the simpler the better.  I don’t want to spend a lot of money on something that gets packed away for the next 11 months. But with this, I think it can be re-used as a decorative accessory around the house after striping back the foliage.

Asparagus Fern

Creating something delicate using Asparagus Fern which I picked up from my florist spray painted white. I love the wintery shade of white against the brass, making it almost look like snow. Really simple to create by just wrapping florist wire and fixing it until you get the look. You could just add a few strands our keep going so it’s really bushy.

I don’t need to go far because our garden is like a small forest on its own. Plenty of green foliage that I can trim off and use on the wreath. It’s free which is even better! A good combination would be to add the base of the green foliage and wire into place some eucalyptus and build it up so its fuller. For a wreath that gets placed on our door.

Eucalyptus

My favourite the eucalyptus with berries on. Out of all the eucalyptus you can pick up the ones with the berries are the best, when the leaves start to fade and die off you can pick them off and just have the berries in a vase. I like them draped over the wreath which is very simple but looks beautiful.

Which one would be your favourite? You can get the wreath from Cooee Design in two different sizes and two different finishes, brass and silver.
